A broken dishwasher can be a huge inconvenience, causing you to do all your dishes by hand. Some possible problems with your dishwasher include:
Leaking Dishwasher Repair There are many reasons that a dishwasher could be leaking. Many of those will require the services of a professional but there are a few things to look for yourself. A good place to start is by inspecting the door and the door gasket. If the gasket is filled with debris try cleaning it out. If you see any cracks or holes in the gasket then it will need replacement. Another issue could be the float switch being stuck in the down position. Consult your dishwasher manual for the location of the float switch and then clear out any debris that may be interfering with the switches position. Noisy Dishwasher Repair If your dishwasher is making unusual noises the first thing to do is check that nothing has fallen down and is interfering with the dishwashers operation. Next you can ensure that the sprayer arm feel solid and isn't hitting anything in its path. If the arm feels wobbly then you may need to replace all or a portion of the arm which is often a job best left to the professionals. Dishwasher Wont Turn On If your dishwasher wont start the first thing to do is to check the power source. Ensure that is operating correctly and remember before commencing any electrical work to always ensure there is no power connected to the machine. Assuming the power source is working you can then move on to checking the fuses. If you find a burned out fuse you will have to replace it. The next thing to check is that the door is latching correctly. A door that wont seal will stop the unit from turning on. Dishes Come Out Dirty The first thing to consider here is whether or not improper use of your dishwasher might be causing the issue. Do you overload the dishwasher? Put plates in without rinsing first? These could both be causes for your dishes not coming out clean. If you're using the washer correctly then you can move on to the machine. Ensure that there is no debris blocking the strainer or the drain and that the sprayer arm moves freely. Check the bottom of the machine for any utensils or lids that may have fallen down. Remember that the advise contained in this website are tips only and are not intended to replace the user manual for your specific machine. We always recommend the services of a professional over a do it yourself fix. |
