Some of the more common problems that we see with ovens are:
Oven not Heating/Heating Unevenly There are a few reasons that your oven may not be heating. First is a faulty ignitor. The second is a broken heating element. If you turn your oven to a high temp on bake and the element on the bottom does not glow red then you know that you have an issue with the element. While these items could be replaced at home we don’t recommend it unless you are a confident do-it-your-selfer with all the necessary tools. Broiler not working A broiler not working generally has the same causes as the bake function not working. It is often a faulty ignition or a broken element. Again if you turn your oven to broil and the element on the ceiling of the way to deal with this is to let a professional handle it. Self-Cleaning not working One reason your ovens self cleaning feature may not be working is that the door lock is not engaging. If this is the case your oven will not enter self cleaning mode. If you would like to attempt to fix this problem yourself consult your owners manual and locate the part number required and then order and install. Another possible cause is that you have blown a thermal fuse. When this happens you will lose power to the oven and the fuse can not be reused. You will have to replace the fuse with a new one. Due to the nature of an oven and the costs of replacement we always recommend the services of a professional.
